Come to Mountain Fest 2020<\/h1>\n

Mountain Fest has become one of the premiere East Coast mountain bike events. \u00a0Run by the not-for-profit Velo MSM trail crew, with assistance from Mont Ste Marie management, this fundraiser has enabled the trail organization to continue the expansion and maintenance of the trail system.<\/p>\n

Many of the development grants that Velo MSM applies for are \u2018matching\u2019 grants. Essentially, this means that in order to receive the grant money, we need to demonstrate that we have the ability to match the grant\u2019s contribution dollar for dollar. One of the key reasons why the festival exists (besides the fact that mountain biking is fun and the MTB community is awesome) is as a means to generate the revenue that can be used for matching grants to build more trails. Three days of epic biking, fun and challenging races, an industry expo including bike demos, music, and lots of activities for the whole family.<\/p>\n

About Velo MSM<\/h1>\n

Velo MSM is a not-for-profit trail crew dedicated to the creation of a unique and special trail destination at Mont Ste-Marie. The Velo MSM trail network is composed of two unique sections, the mountain area and the lake loop. The lake loop consists of mostly beginner and intermediate trails. The mountain area, is intermediate to advanced. The mountain area, contains everything from fast flowy trails to rough natural trails. In total is there is 30+ KM of trails, with enough variety to keep riders happy for an entire weekend.<\/p>\n

Join Ride Ottawa Saturday July 27th, 2019 for a special group clinic covering fundamental MTB Skills at <\/span>Mountain Fest 2019 <\/b>!<\/span><\/p>\n

We are super stoked to offer this session to Mountain Fest Weekend Pass holders!<\/b><\/p>\n

The session starts at the lodge and covers basic bike set-up, control skills and body position fundamentals.\u00a0 It will then break into groups to practice specific skills on the trails. An easier group will head out to Hollywood Boulevard, and two intermediate groups will head to Trans-Am to practice roll-downs and to Cookie’s to work on cornering.<\/span><\/p>\n

Space is limited.\u00a0 There are 15 spots for the session in three groups.\u00a0 These sessions are intended for adults only.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kids will have a blast testing their mountain biking skills on the obstacle course, navigating skinnies, roller ramps and teeter totters. Each year of Mountain Fest we strive to bring entertainment and events for the whole family which includes riders and non-riders alike. We offer a Mountain Spirit (non-bike) pass for folks who don\u2019t mountain bike but would like to participate in the festival by enjoying the music, hiking or running the trails, riding the chairlift and enjoying the beach area. The Mountain Spirit pass is less expensive and give you access to all things except biking events. This year the Spirit events include: a \u201cLearn to Trail Run\u201d clinic and a group trail run led by Salomon<\/strong> with prize giveaways, two yoga classes on the beach led by Shala Yoga<\/strong> and Cathia Yoga, a \u201cCore & More\u201d group strength training session led by Premium Performance Fitness Centre, an ultimate frisbee game and Stand-Up Paddle Boarding provided by Paddlefit<\/strong>. In the evenings, a DJ Dance party on Friday night and live rock bands on Saturday night are sure to round out an amazing festival experience for everyone. All of this is included in your Mountain Spirit pass, which supports Velo MSM in maintaining and building our great trail system.<\/p>\n
